McDo Meme at the NFT Factory 🍟

An Article about the Exhibition held from Thursday May 25th to Saturday May 27th 2023137 rue saint-Martin 75004 Paris - FRANCE
“The Bull Market is dead… long live the Bear Market!
Indeed, the current crypto art market is slowing down. Since April 23, the main NFT marketplaces such as Opensea.io are experiencing historical low trading volumes. And it is hard to say how long it will last.
It affects the crypto art market and puts many artists at risk. These latest are already feeling the threat and they are preparing to face hard times.
Meanwhile, there has been a running joke in the crypto community saying that if everything’s crash, we’ll all end up working at McDonalds. The symbol of it, is a strong acronym ‘NGMI’ (Not Gonna Make It) as a complete opposite of ‘WAGMI’ (We’re All Gonna Make It).
At the NFT Factory, they decided to ward off the bad luck by proposing an original exhibition dedicated to the McDonalds Meme. Artists are invited to create a McDonalds Meme with a listing price of 4,99 tz which match the price of a Big Mac.
By offering this exhibition, the NFT Factory wishes to continue supporting crypto artists on a long term basis.” - NFT Factory
The exhibition has been inspired by the work “MCDONALD'S APPLICATION: ROBNESS V2” minted on Known Origin a year ago, foreseeing the bear Market period we are currently in. The curator of the NFT factory, Benoit Couty, who is also the founder of the Museum Of Crypto Art, owns one of the edition of a 100.
ROBNESS who is part of the Artcrush World Tour has his work in the permanent collection of the Centre Pompidou (contemporary art museum of Paris) partly thanks to the support of Benoit Couty, and having this show at the NFT factory (which is located in front of the Centre Pompidou) gave - in my opinion - additional meaning to that exhibition.
During the opening, Benoit Couty emphasized how he started his journey as a Crypto Art Collector in the mist of a Bear Market and how this is a great moment to collect important piece and scout for upcoming artists.
The great think about this exhibition is that YOU, our beloved READERS, can thus also collect a few of these Digital Artworks, if you like them, as some Editions of Exhibited Artworks are still available on the OBJKT marketplace for 4,99 xtz (less than 5$).
Here’s Arhemort’s selection, LFG 🚀:
$TURBO, $PEPE & Meme Coins 🐸
During the past months, the Digital Art world has been shaken by 2 very successful Meme Coins: $TURBO & $PEPE.
Meme Coins are basically Crypto Coins, or Crypto Money, created mainly with their image as the uniting value behind it.
This is not new: Shiba Inu ($SHIB) and Dogecoin ($DOGE) have been very successful in the past (Doge being heavily supported by Elon Musk).
What is new ?
$TURBO and $PEPE are closely linked to the Digital Artists and therefore to digital Art.
Our Lead Curator, @Arthemort, wrote a tweet about $TURBO, about the fact that Artists are so desperate to make a living that they sometimes end up just creating a Meme Coin (instead of Art):
At Artcrush, we fully support the Artists & always will.
For you, dear reader, it seems to be a perfect moment to jump into Digital Arts: you will find great Artworks for a good price… and at the same time you will have a real impact on the life of the Artists that you will support.
This said, we do not advise buying Meme Coins. Lately, other people have also launched Meme coins, like @Ben.Eth with $BEN and then $PSYOP and then $LOYAL.
Although this played of the Crypto Scene successfully raised 20 Millions USD with those initiatives (yes 20 Millions, just by sending Tweets), we think that in the long run most (if not all?) Meme Coins value will end-up having a very low or zero value.
As always in Crypto: DYOR (“Do Your Own Reseach”) !
Billionaire & NFT collector 💰
Talking about DYOR (or Dior in this case), it seems that Bernard Arnault, the world’s richest person on the planet, has an NFT collection ! It has been confirmed by his former advisor and chief digital officer of LVMH, Ian Rogers.
Some of Arnault’s sons, Alexandre and Frederic, are also active in Crypto Art (Alexandre leads Tiffany, who launched an NFT last year). Despite past comments that seemed to show hesitancy regarding the technology, Bernard Arnault owns a digital wallet on OpenSea and is investing in digital assets.
That’s one more very smart (and rich) person who believes in NFT.
“As the world of Art continues to evolve and adapt to new technologies, it is likely that we will see more traditional artists, galleries, and museums embracing NFTs and other digital assets. While there may be some resistance to these new forms of art and collecting, it is clear that they are here to stay and will play an increasingly important role in the art world of the future.” - nftculture.com

Meet our Marketing magician 👩🏻🦰
📣 Hello Marie, can you tell us a bit more about you?
I am a 25-year-old doing marketing at Artcrush, originally from Paris. I grew up there before coming to study in Brussels. I have pursued studies in Marketing & Advertising. I have a strong personality and I don't hesitate to speak my mind, even if it displeases some people. I have been drawn to the creative field since I was young and I enjoy exploring my creativity in all its aspects.
📣 What is your role at Artcrush?
At Artcrush, I'm in charge of marketing and coordinating exhibitions in different cities. I regularly interact with artists and work closely with all other roles within the company. I also handle the editing of all the videos sent to the artists.
📣 What drives you the most about the Artcrush endeavor?
Artcrush particularly drives me because it allows me to express my creativity and see the direct impact of some of my ideas. The variety of tasks is also very motivating for me. Most importantly, I have been able to follow the adventure from its inception when it was just an idea. Mathieu, the CEO, trusted me, and in return, I fully committed to the project by leaving my initial job in his other advertising company.
📣 On a somewhat lighter note, why did you choose the Disney character BRAVE as your nickname within Artcrush?
There isn't really an explanation, I had to choose one quickly and I thought to myself, "oh look, we have the same hair." Plus, I'm very skilled in archery, so it made sense hahaha
